In Dubai the temperature goes above 45 °C in midsummer; on the coast, high humidity is added. Around the city, fine sand is everywhere. For a generator, these three together make a tough working environment. The grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V, directly compatible with the 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue. The real question is how much power the set will deliver in this heat.

45 °C and above

The power ratings in our catalogue are for standard conditions. In a Gulf summer the same set does not deliver the same power: the engine produces less power in thin air, and the radiator struggles to reject heat. That is why we ask for the highest temperature on site, choose the radiator for it and move up one rating if needed. We explain the logic of the calculation in power loss with temperature and altitude.

On sets installed on a roof or in an enclosed room, the air inlet and outlet paths must be separated so that hot air does not recirculate.

Sand and humidity

Sand fills the air filter quickly. We upgrade the filtration and advise more frequent filter checks. The canopy must keep sand out but still allow enough airflow. On the coast, humidity and salt call for surface protection and moisture protection for the alternator and panel.

High-rises, data centres, construction sites

In Dubai, generator requests mostly come from three types of project:

  • High-rise and commercial buildings: backup power for lifts, fire pumps and emergency lighting. The ATS panel brings the set online automatically during an outage.
  • Data centres and critical facilities: several sets run in parallel with a synchronization panel; while one set is in maintenance, the others carry the load.
  • Construction sites: the set runs all day and is selected on prime power. For portability we ship trailer-mounted generators, and for night work light towers.

Hotels, hospitals, industrial plants and telecom stations are also common places for generators.

Fuel and installation location

In high-rise buildings the generator often sits in the basement, on a mechanical floor or on the roof. Each location has its own question: air inlet and exhaust route in the basement, weight and vibration on the roof, noise on a mechanical floor. Fuel is usually pumped from a separate main tank to a day tank. Tank volume, location and fire precautions are set by local regulations; that is why it is best to make these decisions together at the building’s design stage. We cover the general rules of installation in our article on generator rooms and installation.

Shipping and quote

The sets leave Türkiye usually by sea in a container. Each one passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared; a certificate of origin and any other documents the buyer requires are issued on request.

For a quote, give us the power, standby or prime, highest temperature on site, installation location (roof, enclosed room, open area), canopy and panel preference, and the fuel tank. Request a quote.

Frequently asked questions

What voltage and frequency should a generator in Dubai have?

The United Arab Emirates grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V. The 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue match this grid directly; we confirm the site voltage at the quotation stage.

Why does a generator lose power in the Gulf heat?

Hot air is thin; the engine takes in less oxygen and the radiator struggles to reject heat. On a set that will run above 45 °C this loss is significant. We choose the radiator for the highest temperature and move up one rating if needed.

How is a generator planned for a data centre or a high-rise building?

For critical loads, several sets run in parallel with a synchronization panel (N+1), and the ATS panel transfers the load automatically when the mains fails. The set location, exhaust route, air inlet and fuel tank should be decided at the building's design stage.
