Most of Bosnia and Herzegovina is mountainous. Sarajevo lies in a valley at about 500 metres, and the ski resorts around it are much higher. Winters are snowy and cold, and fog and humidity are common in the valleys. That is why, when choosing a generator for a hotel, hospital or factory, we always ask: “At what altitude is the set, and how will you reach it in winter?”

Snow and winter

During an outage in winter, the backup set has to start first time. For that:

  • A block (coolant) heater keeps the engine warm.
  • The antifreeze is set for the lowest temperature on site.
  • A battery charger keeps the battery full.
  • Winter-grade fuel is used.

The installation location matters too. Snow must not block the air inlet or the exhaust; the canopy doors must not freeze shut. Make sure the road stays open in winter for refuelling.

Altitude

At high ski resorts and mountain facilities, the engine loses power. We select the set for the site altitude and move up one rating if needed. The logic of the calculation is in power loss with temperature and altitude.

Noise

In valley towns the buildings are close together, and generator noise carries along the valley. A soundproof canopy and a correctly positioned exhaust let the set run without disturbing the neighbours.

A hospital example

In facilities where access becomes difficult in winter and the refuelling point is far away, such as hospitals in valley areas, it is necessary to run two sets in parallel instead of one, to enlarge the tank for the days the road may be closed and to test the set under load every month. In medical locations, changeover time and redundancy are set by standards; we cover this on our hospital generator page.

Applications

Hospitals and public buildings, hotels and ski resorts, industrial and processing plants, commercial buildings, construction and infrastructure projects, telecom stations. For mains backup, the ATS panel brings the set online automatically during an outage. In large facilities, running two sets in parallel with a synchronization panel keeps the power on during maintenance too. For construction sites we also ship trailer-mounted generators and light towers.

Grid

The grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V. The ratings in our catalogue are for 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm; the sets match directly.

Shipping and quote

The sets leave Türkiye usually by road, through the Balkans. Each one passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared; a certificate of origin and any other documents the buyer requires are issued on request.

Frequently asked questions

What voltage and frequency should a generator in Bosnia and Herzegovina have?

The grid in Bosnia and Herzegovina is 50 Hz, 230/400 V. The 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue match this grid directly; we confirm the site voltage at the quotation stage.

Where and how should a generator be installed in a snowy area?

The set should be installed high enough off the ground, in a place where snow build-up will not block the air inlet or the exhaust. The canopy doors must not freeze shut with snow and ice, and the road must stay open in winter for refuelling. A block heater and a well-maintained battery make sure the first start works.

How much does altitude affect generator power?

The higher you go, the thinner the air and the less power the engine delivers. The loss varies with the engine type; that is why we select the set knowing the site altitude. On high sites it may be necessary to move up one rating.
