Generator Canopies

Soundproof generator canopy and enclosure: CNC cutting, powder coating, acoustic insulation, easy maintenance. Standard, trailer-mounted and custom canopies.

A generator’s service life in the field depends largely on the canopy that surrounds it. The canopy is the first line of defence against rain, dust and impacts, a sound barrier for the people nearby and a working space for the maintenance team.

How do we manufacture our canopies?

  • CNC laser cutting and bending: Canopy sheets are cut and bent to precise dimensions, so the panels fit together perfectly.
  • Surface treatment and powder coating: The panels are finished with corrosion-resistant electrostatic powder coating.
  • Sound insulation: The inner surfaces of the canopy are lined with sound-absorbing material, and the air inlets and outlets are designed to break up noise.
  • Airflow: The inlet and outlet louvres for radiator cooling air and combustion air are sized so that the engine does not overheat at full load.
  • Easy maintenance: Wide, lockable doors provide convenient access for oil, filter and battery checks.
  • Fuel and exhaust: The external fuel filler and the exhaust outlet are positioned for safe use on site.

Options

  • Standard soundproof canopy: For most applications. For complete canopied generator sets and the model list, see the canopied generator sets page.
  • Containerised: canopy sets go up to 1,100 kVA; sets above 1,100 kVA are supplied in a container, see containerised generators.
  • Trailer-mounted canopy: For construction sites and rental applications that change location frequently; see trailer-mounted generator.
  • Custom canopy: Built to your colour, dimensions, sound level and climatic conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a generator canopy important?

The canopy protects the generator from rain, dust and impacts, reduces operating noise and prevents unauthorised access. A well-designed canopy also ensures correct cooling airflow and easy access to service points.

Can a canopy be built for an existing generator?

Yes. By examining the generator's dimensions and the position of the radiator and exhaust, a canopy can be designed and manufactured to fit existing open-type sets. Please get in touch with us for details.
