Frequently asked questions
What is done during commissioning?
Fuel, oil and coolant levels and the battery and earthing connections are checked; the generator is started for the first time, voltage and frequency are measured, protection and alarm functions are tested and the generator is tested under load. If a transfer switch (ATS) panel is installed, its operation is also tested.
What is expected from the customer before installation?
The base or room where the generator will be positioned must be ready, access for vehicles and cranes must be provided and details of the switchboard to be connected must be shared. The preparation requirements are communicated to you in detail at the survey or quotation stage.
Is the generator sent to site without being tested?
No. Every Terex Diesel generator is tested at full load in the factory before shipment. The commissioning test on site is carried out to confirm that the generator operates correctly, together with its connections, at the location where it has been installed.
