Containerised Generators
Containerised diesel generators above 1,100 kVA (up to 4,125 kVA) with Baudouin, Cummins and Perkins engines, full-load tested in Tuzla. Model table, quote checklist.

A containerised generator is a diesel generator set built into a steel container that serves as its enclosure and its transport frame. For high-power sets that stand outdoors, a container protects the engine and alternator from weather and dust and lets the whole set be lifted, shipped and installed as one unit.
Terex Diesel builds its sets at its facility in Tuzla, Istanbul, Türkiye, and tests every set under full load before shipment.
- High power outdoors. Sets above 1,100 kVA are supplied in a container; sets up to 1,100 kVA are supplied with a soundproof canopy.
- Moving as one unit. The set, its panels and its internal wiring travel together, which shortens installation and commissioning on site.
- Harsh sites. Mines, remote construction projects, desert and coastal sites where sand, dust or salt air would shorten the life of an open-type set.
For sites that move often, see trailer-mounted generators.
Sets above 1,100 kVA, from 1,250 to 4,125 kVA standby, are supplied in a container. The table gives one example model for each power and engine brand. Baudouin sets come with three alternator options (model codes ST, MC and TA); Cummins and Perkins sets with four (ST, LS, MC and TA). Ratings are at 50 Hz, 1,500 rpm, 230/400 V, power factor 0.8.

All models are listed on the Baudouin, Cummins and Perkins generator pages and in the product range.
A container enclosure is designed around the site. These are the points to state in your request and to check in the quote:
- Cooling at the highest ambient temperature. Heat and altitude reduce engine power; see derating at high temperature and altitude.
- Noise limit. Give the limit and the distance at which it applies.
- Exhaust routing. Where hot gas may leave the container, away from air inlets and people.
- Fuel autonomy. The running time you need between refuellings; see fuel tank sizing and the fuel consumption calculator.
- Service access. Which components the service team must reach, and how.
- Panels. An ATS transfer switch panel for automatic mains backup, or a synchronization panel when several sets share the load.
Very large loads are often better served by several synchronized sets than by one. Two or more sets running in parallel let one set stop for maintenance while the others keep the load (N+1), and at low load one set can stop to save fuel and engine hours. For two sets on one base frame, see dual generator sets; for how paralleling works, see generator synchronization and parallel operation.
- Data centres: redundant, synchronized backup with long fuel autonomy
- Hospitals: N+1 backup for critical loads
- Industrial plants: production backup and prime power where the grid is weak
- Construction sites and remote projects: prime power with protection from dust and weather
Containerised sets travel as a single unit. Shipping method, export documents and spare parts supply are agreed at the quotation stage. Installation and commissioning and scheduled maintenance are provided in the İstanbul and Ankara regions; for other locations, our team will contact you. Spare parts are supplied across Türkiye.
Send us the power and duty (standby or prime), voltage and frequency, ambient temperature range, altitude, noise limit, fuel autonomy and delivery point through the contact page. If you are not sure of the power, start with what size generator do I need?.
Frequently asked questions
What is a containerised generator?
A containerised generator is a diesel generator set installed inside a steel container that acts as its enclosure and transport frame, with air inlets, an exhaust outlet and service doors. It protects the set outdoors and lets a large generator be transported and installed as one unit.
When should I choose a container instead of a canopy?
The choice follows the power rating: sets up to 1,100 kVA are supplied with a canopy, and sets above 1,100 kVA are supplied in a container. Site conditions, transport and service access are confirmed in the quote.
Which models are listed with a container enclosure?
All sets whose model-code power is above 1,100 kVA. In our catalogue these are the Baudouin, Cummins and Perkins sets from 1,250 to 4,125 kVA standby (1,125 to 3,750 kVA prime). Sets up to 1,100 kVA are supplied with a canopy.
Can two containerised generators run in parallel?
Yes. Two or more sets can share a load through a synchronization panel, so one set can be stopped for maintenance while the others keep supplying power. This is how N+1 redundancy is usually built for critical sites.
What information is needed for a containerised generator quote?
The required power and duty (standby or prime), voltage and frequency, highest and lowest ambient temperature, altitude, noise limit at a stated distance, fuel autonomy and whether an ATS or synchronization panel is needed. Add the delivery point and access for the crane or truck.
