We export generators to Indonesia. In this country of thousands of islands, there are regions with no grid connection or with a weak grid. Demand comes from mining and plantation sites, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, hotels and telecom stations. The grid is 50 Hz; the three-phase voltage used is 220/380 V, and 230/400 V can also be found in some new facilities.

Tropical heat and humidity

Temperatures are high all year round and humidity is constantly high. The engine loses power in hot air; we choose the radiator for the highest temperature on site and move up one rating if needed. We explain the logic of the calculation in power loss with temperature and altitude.

Constant humidity causes condensation in the alternator windings and the panel. We recommend anti-condensation heaters, winding protection and surface protection. At coastal sites, salt makes this protection even more important. In the rainy season, the canopy must be protected against water ingress, and the air inlets must be designed accordingly.

Remote sites and continuous operation

On mining, plantation and island sites, the generator is often the main source of power and runs all day. In this case the selection is made on prime power. Running several sets in parallel with a synchronization panel keeps power flowing while one set is in maintenance. On remote sites, refuelling must be planned and the tank capacity chosen accordingly; details are in our article on fuel tank sizing. We recommend keeping maintenance parts in stock on site.

By type of project

  • Commercial buildings, hotels and hospitals: The generator is a backup; the ATS panel brings the set online by itself during an outage.
  • Telecom stations: Low-power sets that can run unattended for long periods, with remote monitoring, are needed. Details are on our telecom generator page.
  • Boats and coastal facilities: We also offer marine generators.

Shipping, documents and quote

The sets leave Türkiye by sea, in containers or as break-bulk cargo; inland transport from the port of arrival to the site is planned separately. Each set passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared; a certificate of origin and other documents are issued on request. In Indonesia, SNI certification and licences held by the importer may be required for some product groups; we agree with the buyer on which documents are needed at the quotation stage.

For a quote, give us the power or a load list, the site voltage, standby or prime, daily running hours, the highest temperature on site, the installation location, canopy and panel preference, the fuel tank and the port of arrival. Request a quote.

Frequently asked questions

What voltage and frequency should a generator in Indonesia have?

The Indonesian grid is 50 Hz; the three-phase voltage used is 220/380 V, and 230/400 V can also be found in some new facilities. The 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue match this grid; we confirm the site voltage at the quotation stage.

Which documents are required to import a generator into Indonesia?

For some product groups, SNI (Indonesian National Standard) certification and licences held by the importer may be required. We agree with the buyer on which documents are needed for the specific project at the quotation stage.

What should be considered for a generator in a tropical climate?

High temperatures reduce the engine's power; the radiator should be chosen for the highest temperature on site. Constant humidity causes condensation in the alternator and panel; anti-condensation heaters and surface protection are needed. For the rainy season, the canopy must be protected against water ingress.
