Terex Diesel is a diesel generator manufacturer in Türkiye (Turkey). We build 10–4,125 kVA sets at our 2,000 m² facility in Tuzla, Istanbul, and test every set under full load before shipment.
The Absheron peninsula, where Baku lies, is known for its strong winds. The wind carries dust and salt from the coast. On the Kura plain to the west, summers are hot and dry; in the Caucasus foothills to the north, winters pass under snow. When choosing a generator for Azerbaijan, we need to know which of these three regions you are in.
Voltage: 220/380 V
The grid is 50 Hz, 220/380 V. The frequency is the same as in our catalogue; we ship the alternator set to a 220/380 V output. Just state the voltage in your quote request.
If your facility has equipment from different countries, check the rating plates. A machine designed for 400 V usually runs without trouble at 380 V, but for sensitive devices and large motors this needs to be confirmed in the project. Because we can set the voltage to suit the equipment on site, sharing this information from the start makes our job easier.
Absheron: wind, dust, salt
If the wind carries dust every day, the air filter fills sooner than expected. On such sites we upgrade the filtration and advise more frequent filter checks. Positioning the canopy air inlet with the prevailing wind in mind also makes a difference. Installations near the sea need corrosion-resistant surface protection.
The plain: heat
In summer the temperature rises on the plain. We choose the radiator for the highest temperature on site and size the ventilation of canopied sets accordingly. On a set working in a field or on an open construction site, the inside of a canopy in direct sun gets noticeably hotter than the ambient air. If possible, put the set in the shade or under a simple shelter, without blocking the airflow.
Mountains: winter and altitude
In hotels and facilities in the Caucasus foothills, starting the set first time on a winter morning needs a block (coolant) heater, the right antifreeze and a well-maintained battery. On high sites the engine loses power; we select the set for the altitude. The logic of the calculation is in power loss with temperature and altitude.
Where are they used?
In Azerbaijan, generators are used in industrial and energy sector facilities, on construction projects, as backup for hospitals, hotels and commercial buildings, at telecom stations and for agricultural irrigation.
- Mains backup: the ATS panel brings the set online automatically during an outage.
- Large facility: several sets run in parallel with a synchronization panel.
- Off-grid site: the set is the primary source, selected on prime power.
- Construction site: trailer-mounted generators and light towers.
Shipping and quote
The sets leave Türkiye usually by road, or on routes where road transport is combined with other modes. Each one passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are provided; the shipping method, Incoterms and any further documents are agreed in writing at the quotation stage.
For a quote, give us the power, standby or prime, voltage, canopy and panel preference, fuel tank and the region of the site. Request a quote.

Frequently asked questions
What voltage and frequency do generators run at in Azerbaijan?
The Azerbaijani grid is 50 Hz, 220/380 V. The frequency is the same as the 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue; we ship the alternator set to a 220/380 V output. Just state the voltage in your quote request.
What should you watch for in a windy, dusty place like Baku?
Wind-blown dust fills the air filter quickly. Upgraded filtration, frequent filter checks and positioning the canopy air inlet with the wind direction in mind are recommended. By the sea, corrosion protection is also needed.
How are generators shipped from Türkiye to Azerbaijan?
Usually by road, or on routes where road transport is combined with other modes. A commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are provided; the shipping method, Incoterms and any further documents are agreed in writing at the quotation stage.
