In Basra and Baghdad, midsummer temperatures reach 45–50 °C in the shade. In many parts of Iraq, the generator works alongside the grid as a supplementary source and runs long hours every day. So the set will be under load both in the hottest weather and for long periods. We make the selection accordingly.
Cooling at 50 °C
In the heat the engine loses power and the radiator struggles to reject heat. The ratings in our catalogue are for standard conditions; on a site close to 50 °C, the same set cannot deliver the same power. That is why we ask for the highest temperature on site, choose the radiator for it and move up one rating if needed. We explain the logic of the calculation in power loss with temperature and altitude.
On canopied sets, ventilation is critical. The canopy should protect the set from dust and sun, but must not trap hot air inside.
Prime power and parallel operation
For a set that will run for hours every day, the selection is made on prime power. A set selected on its standby rating wears out quickly at this pace.
Where the load changes a lot during the day, for example on plants supplying a neighbourhood or a facility, we recommend running two or more sets in parallel with a synchronization panel instead of one large set. When the load drops at night one set stops, which saves fuel; while one is in maintenance, the others keep running. The ATS panel handles the changeover between the grid and the generator automatically.
Dust storms
A dust storm can fill an air filter in a few hours. We upgrade the filtration and advise making a filter check after every storm a habit. It is the cheapest protection for engine life.
Clean fuel
A set that runs every day takes on fuel every day. Water and sediment that get into the tanker, the storage tank or the drums are the injectors’ worst enemy. We advise adding a pre-filter with a water separator to the fuel line and draining the water from the bottom of the tank regularly. Check the fuel filter as often as the air filter. Logging daily running hours also makes it easier to service on time; our maintenance checklist shows the way.
Where are they used?
Supplying homes and neighbourhoods, hospitals, industrial and energy sector facilities, construction projects, commercial buildings, telecom stations and agricultural irrigation. For construction sites we also ship trailer-mounted generators and light towers.
Grid, shipping, quote
The grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V, directly compatible with the 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue.
Iraq shares a land border with Türkiye; the sets usually go by road. Each one passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared; a certificate of origin and any other documents the buyer requires are issued on request.

Frequently asked questions
What voltage and frequency should a generator in Iraq run at?
The Iraqi grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V. The 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue match this grid directly; we confirm the site voltage at the quotation stage.
Why can’t a generator deliver full power in extreme heat?
Hot air is thin; the engine takes in less oxygen on each cycle. The radiator also struggles to reject heat. Together these mean power loss. That is why, for sets that will run close to 50 °C, we choose the radiator accordingly and move up one rating if needed.
Standby or prime for a generator that runs long hours every day?
Prime. The standby rating is for backup sets that run for limited periods, only during mains failures. On a set that runs for hours every day, selecting on the standby rating strains the engine and shortens its life.
What is the lead time for a generator to Iraq?
Sets with Quartz, SDEC and Baudouin engines are ready 1–3 weeks after order confirmation, depending on stock; sets with Perkins, Cummins, Volvo Penta, Kubota, Scania and FPT Iveco engines 3–4 weeks. Kofo- or Yuchai-engined sets are ready 1–2 weeks after the order is confirmed. Road transport time is added.
What warranty applies to sets supplied to Iraq?
12 months or 1,000 operating hours for all engine brands. The warranty covers the whole set.
Can we visit the factory before ordering?
