We export generators to Spain. In Spain, demand comes from hotels and commercial buildings, industrial facilities, agricultural and irrigation operations, and construction projects. The grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V, directly compatible with the 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue. As Spain is a European Union country, the conditions for placing the set on the EU market are addressed at the first stage of the quotation.

EU requirements: CE marking and emissions

CE marking is mandatory for generator sets placed on the European Union market. Under which EU legislation the set is documented is determined by the type of set, its power and how it will be used. We agree on the required documents with the buyer for the specific project.

On emissions, the distinction lies in how the set is used:

  • Mobile sets: Non-road mobile machinery, such as trailer-mounted or rental sets, is subject to EU Stage V emission rules.
  • Stationary sets: Sets permanently installed in a building or facility are subject to different rules. Above a certain size, national and regional permits and the Medium Combustion Plant Directive may apply.
  • Noise: For sets used outdoors, sound power limits and labelling rules are also assessed.

We confirm these requirements separately for each project; the rules under which the set is supplied are stated in writing in the quotation.

Summer heat and coastal conditions

Inland and in the south, summer temperatures can exceed 40 °C. The engine loses power in hot air, and the radiator struggles to reject heat. We ask for the highest temperature on site, choose the radiator for it and move up one rating if needed. We explain the logic of the calculation in power loss with temperature and altitude.

In hotels on the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts and in facilities on the islands, humidity and salt call for surface protection and moisture protection for the alternator and panel. For installations near hotels and residential areas, a canopied set is preferred to keep noise levels down.

By type of project

  • Hotels and commercial buildings: The generator is a backup; the ATS panel brings the set online by itself during an outage.
  • Agriculture and irrigation: Pumps run all day; the selection is made on prime power and the starting current of the pump motor. Details are on our agriculture and irrigation generator page.
  • Industrial facilities: Several sets can run in parallel with a synchronization panel; while one set is in maintenance, the others carry the load.
  • Construction sites: For trailer-mounted generator options, the emission rule is assessed separately.

Shipping, documents and quote

The sets leave Türkiye by sea or by road, depending on the project. Each set passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared; for industrial products covered by the Türkiye–EU Customs Union, the A.TR movement certificate is used. Other documents are issued on request.

For a quote, give us the power or a load list, standby or prime, whether the set will be stationary or mobile, the highest temperature on site, the installation location, canopy and panel preference, the fuel tank and the documents required. Request a quote.

Frequently asked questions

What voltage and frequency should a generator in Spain have?

The Spanish grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V. The 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue match this grid directly; we confirm the site voltage at the quotation stage.

Is CE marking required on a generator shipped to Spain?

Yes. CE marking is mandatory for generator sets placed on the European Union market. At the quotation stage we agree together, for the specific project, under which EU legislation the set will be documented and which documents are required.

Does a generator lose power in the summer heat?

Yes. In hot air the engine takes in less oxygen and the radiator struggles to reject heat. Inland and in the south, summer temperatures can exceed 40 °C. We choose the radiator for the highest temperature on site and move up one rating if needed.
