In Morocco, generator requests come from three different environments: cities and hotels on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, high-altitude sites in the Atlas Mountains, and hot, dusty regions in the south. The grid is 50 Hz, 220/380 V everywhere; the equipment of the set changes with the site.

The coast: salt and humidity

In coastal cities such as Casablanca, Tangier or Agadir, the sea air is salty and humid. Surface protection, a well-ventilated canopy and regular maintenance slow down corrosion. In hotels, hospitals and commercial buildings, an ATS panel that brings the set online by itself during an outage is usually a must; in residential areas a soundproof canopy is preferred.

The Atlas: altitude and cold

In mountainous regions two issues come first. The first is altitude: at altitude the air is thinner and the engine delivers less power. We choose the rating according to the altitude of the site; we explain the logic of the calculation in power loss with temperature and altitude. The second is cold: on sites where winter temperatures fall below zero, a block heater and a suitable battery are needed. Details are in our article on running a generator in winter.

The south: heat and dust

In the south and the interior, summer heat and dust are decisive. We choose the radiator for the highest temperature on site and upgrade the air filtration. For jobs that run long hours, such as irrigation or a remote site, the selection is made on prime power; the fuel tank is chosen by the refuelling interval. For a rough calculation, see our fuel tank sizing article.

Where else?

In Morocco, generators are used in industrial and manufacturing plants, in agriculture and irrigation, in hospitals and commercial buildings, at telecom stations and on construction sites. For construction sites we also offer trailer-mounted generators and light towers.

Grid and quote

Grid: 50 Hz, 220/380 V. The ratings in our catalogue are for 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm.

For a quote, just tell us: power or a load list, standby or prime, canopied or open type, panel requirements, fuel tank, and the altitude and the highest and lowest temperatures of the site.

The sets leave Türkiye mostly by sea. Each one passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared; a certificate of origin and other documents are issued on request. Request a quote.

Frequently asked questions

What voltage and frequency do generators run at in Morocco?

The Moroccan grid is 50 Hz, 220/380 V. The 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue match this grid; the generator is set to a 220/380 V output. We confirm the site voltage at the quotation stage.

What should be considered when choosing a generator for a site in the Atlas Mountains?

Altitude and cold. At altitude the air is thinner and the engine loses power; the rating is chosen according to the altitude of the site. On sites where winter temperatures fall below zero, a block heater and a suitable battery make sure the set starts first time.

Which documents are prepared for a generator shipped to Morocco?

A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared for every shipment. A certificate of origin and any other documents the buyer’s customs require are issued on request; we agree together on which documents are needed at the quotation stage.
