Albania’s coast faces the Adriatic and Ionian seas; most of the interior is mountainous. In summer the load of the hotels in Durrës and Sarandë rises several times over, and in winter the roads to mountain villages can be buried in snow. Generator selection is shaped by these two extremes.

The coast: season load

When we size the set for a hotel or holiday resort on the coast, we look not at the winter load but at an August evening: all the air conditioners, the kitchen, the lifts, the pool and water pumps. We also add the start of the largest motor. For a first estimate you can use our power calculator.

In facilities where the load changes this much with the season, running two sets in parallel with a synchronization panel makes sense: in winter one set is enough, in summer both run together.

In a hotel the generator should not be heard; that is why a soundproof canopy is almost always there. The ATS panel starts the set by itself during an outage. Sea air is salty; surface protection and the maintenance interval are planned for it. For the summer heat, we choose the radiator for the highest temperature.

Inland: winter and altitude

At facilities and construction sites in the mountains, the first start on a winter morning needs a block (coolant) heater, the right antifreeze and a well-maintained battery. On high sites the engine loses power; we select the set for the altitude. The logic of the calculation is in power loss with temperature and altitude.

Pre-season test

At coastal hotels the backup set often spends the whole winter without running. And the first big outage usually falls in the busiest week. Before the season opens, we recommend running the set under real load or with a load bank, and checking the battery, fuel and coolant. Sets run for long periods at low load build up deposits in the exhaust; a test under load clears these too. We explain why in our load bank test article.

Where else?

Construction and infrastructure projects, hospitals and public buildings, commercial buildings, processing plants, telecom stations and agricultural irrigation. For construction sites we also ship trailer-mounted generators and light towers. For sets that will run continuously, the selection is made on prime power.

Grid and shipping

The grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V, directly compatible with the 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue.

The sets leave Türkiye by road through the Balkans or by sea. Each one passes a full-load test before it leaves the factory. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared; a certificate of origin and any other documents the buyer requires are issued on request.

Frequently asked questions

What voltage and frequency should a generator in Albania have?

The Albanian grid is 50 Hz, 230/400 V. The 50 Hz / 1,500 rpm ratings in our catalogue match this grid directly; we confirm the site voltage at the quotation stage.

How is a generator selected for a seasonal hotel?

The rating is calculated on the load of a summer evening, with the air conditioners and the kitchen fully running. Because the load drops sharply in winter, running two sets in parallel with a synchronization panel can be more efficient. A soundproof canopy and an ATS panel are the standard choice for hotels.

How are generators shipped from Türkiye to Albania?

By road through the Balkans or by sea; the choice depends on the size of the project and the delivery point. A commercial invoice and packing list are prepared, and other documents are issued on request.
